Well, hello again!
So, I just read through a bunch of my blogposts from the past and I kept promising to get better at this whole blogging thing. Okay, now I say to you... I DON'T PROMISE ANYTHING! You (whoever you are) might just have to get used to the yearly blogpost and ramblings of this girl who has far too much going on in life to worry too much about the feelings of who might or might not read this blog and, I'm not sorry.
I have learned a lot this past year about taking on way too much. I literally hated this past year of school. I couldn't wait to be done and to be honest I had a very hard time keeping my head above water. I was working about 40 hours a week, seeing clients, working at the hospital on the weekends, going to classes, and trying to sustain a relationship with the most important person of my life and be a good friend, ENOUGH! I don't write this to get pity I write this because it is insane and I challenge each of you to take a look at your life and if something is suffering... Throw something out! Literally, overhaul your schedule if you have to and stop taking those extra weekend shifts for people!!!! (Okay, so this last piece is mainly for me as I realize I burn out easily and sometimes can't make the 7 day workweek work for me... my poor little body gets too tired!)
On a happier note... I am getting married in about 65ish days to Daniel Roy Huygens. I almost accidently submitted one of my last papers as Hollyann Huygens. Opps! Can you tell I'm super excited to be his wife? WIFE... wow. It's crazy for me to think I will be getting married because unlike a lot of other women, I never fantasized or talked about getting married because I never thought it would happen to me! :) God, you have a great sense of humor. I distinctly remember telling my mom I would NEVER marry anyone who was reformed, dutch, or younger than me (okay, he's not that much younger people!). I struck out on all 3 counts... Actually, God knew what He was doing (go figure, right?) and orchestrated something wildly beautiful when he put the two of us together. I won't bore you with what I think are amazing little things but only hope that you take time in your life to take everything in. Beautiful, wonderful, magical, God orchestrated things.
Blessings,
Hollyann
